But while the majority of the population have to put up with sitting it out, Tamara Ecclestone has decided to escape Britain for warmer climes.
The 27-year-old daughter of Formula One boss Bernie Ecclestone has been teasing her Twitter followers with a series of snaps from her sun-soaked holiday in Croatia.

Posing on what appears to be a lavish private yacht earlier today, the reality star flaunted her tanned and toned physique in a tiny white bikini.
Pictured against a backdrop of a perfectly blue sky, Tamara accompanied the photograph with a caption reading: 'Chilling in Croatia'.

The curvaceous brunette seems smitten with her holiday destination, and made sure to update her fans on her movements for the day.
She tweeted: 'Morning from a very sunny and beautiful Croatia. Enjoying the Croatian islands so beautiful Vis today.'

Yesterday, Tamara enjoyed a laid-back lunch on the island of Hvar, and explained she was enjoying spending some quality time with her family and boyfriend Omar Khyami.
'A beautiful day in Croatia loving spending time with my family,' she wrote.
The Billion $$$ Girl star is certainly making the most of her time away, and earlier this week posted a picture online of her dressed in a hot pink bikini enjoying a dip in the spacious jacuzzi on her yacht.
Although it is not clear excatly which members of her family Tamara is holidaying with, her mother - former Armani model Slavica Ecclestone - originally hails from Croatia.
The socialite has already enjoyed breaks in Santorini, Cannes, Monaco, Dubai and the Bahamas this year.
